Rica Meats Pty Ltd is a fully integrated processed and pork meat business supplying quality fresh and processed meat products nationwide. Rica’s operations commenced with the establishment of the meat processing factory in Founders Hill, Johannesburg, in 1994. The Factory produces 400-500 tonnes of processed meat products monthly which are then distributed to client across the country through 6 provincial branches in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, East London and George. Rica procures quality meat from its own piggeries which are located in Magaliesburg, North West Province and Randfontein, Gauteng. Combined, the piggeries are approximately 1800 sows in size. Furthermore, Rica’s slaughtering and deboning procedures are completed at its own abattoir in Randfontein to ensure that only best quality pork meat goes into the processing stages of production. The Rica abattoir is renowned for slaughtering procedures, quality and cleanliness in line with best practice regulations. Rica is a unique business and competitively positioned as one of only few fully integrated processed meat businesses in South Africa. Rica’s core strength lies in its ability to grow the primary pork input cost effectively. As part of the RussellStone Group, further value is unlocked through synergies with various group companies from feed inputs though to marketing.
